Six new films featuring artists from Artists First provide a fascinating insight into the history and ways of working of the group. They have been made by Redweather Films as part of our Heritage Lottery Funded project. Each film tells the stories of a different aspect of Artists First - its origins, its influences, impacts and collaborations over the years.
The films can be found throughout the website on the homepage and history sections and we've also put them all in one place if you'd like to browse the whole series.
As well as these new films, we've made some older ones available online for the first time. This includes a 1988 HTV programme about the group and an exhibition at the pioneering Outside Door Gallery in Bristol, as well as a series made for television in 2000.
Together these makes a fascinating and valuable resource.
All films have BSL and captioning.
Some of our most popular paintings (such as Breadhorse by Carol Chilcott, left) are available as prints. Browse the gallery to see what else is available.
